John Lee Liffiton, born 1954 in the United States

On the English faculty and Coordinator for Honors and ESL Programs at Scottsdale Community College, Scottsdale, Arizona. He is also Chairman of the Board for the Arizona Council for International Visitors (AZCIV) and a member of the Phoenix Committee on Foreign Relations. He is a board member of the Scottsdale Sister Cities Association, Secretary on the Executive Committee, World Affairs Council of Arizona, and a member of the Phoenix Committee on Foreign Relations. His branch of the family is descended from William Henry Liffiton (1875-1946) and Alice Jane Downey (1878-1959) of Farnham, Quebec, and after 1920 of Lakewood, Ohio. John and his family reside in Phoenix, Arizona.

John Liffiton has a BSc in Anthropology from Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff, Arizona, and earned his MA in English and TEFL from Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona. He is a 2012 graduate of the FBI citizen's Academy. He has traveled to over 40 countries and worked in France, the UK, Saudi Arabia, Macedonia, Mexico and China. He was also a Fulbright Scholar to Morocco and a Peace Corps Volunteer in Zaire. One of his interests is military history and he has had numerous articles published in the US, the UK and Ireland.
