Credits

Thanks to those who have assisted in the quest for Liffiton history. They are literally located around the world, and have helped in a multitude of ways.

Cathy Converse, author of Following the Curve of Time, The Legendary M. Wylie Blanchet

As a writer of women's histories and an explorer of the British Colombian seacoast, Cathy was the perfect person to research and write the story of Capi Blanchet. Following the trail of historical clues with her as she researched the book was interesting and enjoyable. Cathy Converse also wrote In Mainstays: Women Who Shaped BC, is the co-author with Beth Hill of The Remarkable World of Frances Barkley 1769 - 1845, and is co-editor of In Her Own Right: Selected Essays on the History of Women in BC. A founder of Women's Studies curricula and ancillary programs at Camosun College, she is also a former department chair, instructor and frequent public speaker.

Ernie Fitzsimmons, hockey statistician

Consulting statistician for Total Hockey, The Official Encyclopedia of the National Hockey League (1999), Ernie Fitzsimmons provided the statistics on Liffiton hockey players from his own collected reference materials.

Edith Iglauer, author of "Capi" in The Strangers Next Door

Bestselling author of Fishing with John, and many other books and articles, Edith Iglauer (www.edithiglauer.com) interviewed family and friends of Capi Blanchet (Muriel Liffiton) to write the first account of her life.

Rosemary Joy, author of The Genealogy of John Gray Goodall Snetsinger

As the great granddaughter of John Gray Goodall Snetsinger, whose daughter Carrie Jane married Charles Albert Liffiton of Montreal, Rosemary has excelled in tracking down and documenting the history of the Snetsinger family and their relations. Her work has been a treasure trove of photographs and documents.

Pennie Redmile, Quebec Family History Society

The knowledgeable Librarian of the Quebec Family History Society in Montreal, Pennie provided guidance, information, and photographed Liffiton gave sites at Mont Royal Cemetery. An interest of Pennie's is Cowansville, Quebec, for a while home to the William Henry Liffiton family.

Stuart Roberts and www.lizandstu.com

Stuart, who lives in Cornwall, England, is the leading researcher and authority on Leverton and its variations Liverton, Leveton, Leviton, and Liffiton. His untiring research efforts, perseverance, and knowledge of English history and customs have been vital to the discovery and understanding of the Liffitons in England.

Robin M. Ward

A descendant of the Burnett family, who together with the Thomas Liffiton family immigrated to New Zealand in 1856, Robin Ward has provided some very detailed information from her own research and from family letters.

Mardy Winans Elliot

As the daughter of Violet Nicholas Winans, Mardy provided information collected by her mother including letters and photographs. Mardy has the family bible of George and Jane Ann Liffiton documenting the family birth dates.

Peg Vause and Robyn Pearce

Peg Vause, a descendant of Eleanor Liffiton through her first son, Charles Smith, provided the incredible photographs from the album of Maria Huntly Liffiton. Her neice, Robyn Pearce, the author of Getting A Grip on Time, and a frequent speaker on tips for better productivity, was instrumental in keeping the communication going. She hand delivered the Liffiton CD of photographs to the United States from Peg in New Zealand.
