HOCKEY: Pete Liffiton (1890 - about 1932)

Pete was the youngest son of William Thomas and Jessie Liffiton of Montreal, Canada. He was actually born Herbert Leslie Liffiton, but relatives remembered him as Pete and his hockey statistics were recorded under that name. Between 1912 and 1916, he played on three different teams. On his 1913-14 team he wore the number six. In the 1915-16 season he played on the Lachine team, which his brother Ernie coached the year before.

Pete is said to have had a wonderful tenor voice. He is reported to have coached hockey and been a manager of a mill.  He married Marjorie Simms and they had a son, Henry Herbert Liffiton. Pete and his son reportedly died of lukemia, Pete around 1932, and his son in 1935.
